Lake Austin Spa & Resort
We pulled in as the sun slipped behind the hills, that golden hush falling over the lake like a blanket. I hopped out—paws meeting warm flagstone—and instantly felt it: space to breathe. To sniff. To poop. To be. Welcome to Lake Austin Spa Resort.
Nacho Review
They say this place is for humans to unwind—but let’s not forget the fur people. This place is glorious. Call ahead and a soft, memory-foam dog bed can be waiting in your room, along with clean bowls and gourmet treats.
- Dog-friendly rooms with cozy spots for me and luxury for my folks.
- Nature trails for gentle morning trots or curiosity-driven sunset walks.
- Water play—yes, really! Paddleboarding and kayaking with my human was a dream. I wore a life jacket. Safety first.
- A $300 pet fee covers the whole stay. Not cheap, but I’m told nothing good is.
While us dogs are not able join in the spa or the indoor dining room (rules are rules), we can enjoy hanging on the porch, sharing time with our folks and walking the grounds along the lake.

Mom & Pop’s 2-Cents
Lake Austin Spa Resort is tucked away just 30 minutes from downtown Austin. Once you’re here, though, you’re in another world. It’s super beautiful and Nacho friendly. The pet fee was a bit expensive, but overall the place is amazing.
The Rooms
Charming, sun-soaked cottages—some with lake views, others with private gardens.
Signature Room Example:
- A porch for coffee and dog-watching
- Spacious Shower
- Soft bed and linens.
They peeked into a Luxury LakeView Suite too—more space, private hot tub, more oohs and ahhs.
The Food
Fresh, intentional, soul-nourishing. Three meals a day, all included. Example menu items.
- Mornings started with huevos rancheros or lavender scones
- Lunch was often a vibrant bowl of grains, greens, and grilled salmon
- Dinners danced between comfort and elegance—think roasted duck, Texas peaches, garden herbs
Meals were served at Aster Café, where garden-to-table isn’t a gimmick—it’s a way of being. While I couldn’t go inside, patio meals with my human were magic.
Activities
This isn’t just a resort. It’s a living ritual.
- Sunrise yoga by the lake
- Kayaking and paddleboarding, with me curled on the board
- Garden walks, wine cruises, sound baths
And the LakeHouse Spa—25,000 square feet of steam, scent, and serenity (for humans only, sadly)
Cost
- Rates start around $825 per person per night
- That includes your room, all meals, most activities, and the gentle reawakening of your spirit
- Add $300 for us pups—we’re worth it
