The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa

Hilton Head, South Carolina

The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa rolls out the red carpet with ocean views, soft sandy beaches perfect for zoomies, and enough pampering to make even my human jealous. Sure, they say it’s a “spa resort for people,” but I’m pretty sure the plush pet beds and endless belly rubs say otherwise.

   Nacho Review

As a seasoned sniffer of upscale resorts, I can assure you The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa is almost perfect—for dogs under 40 lbs, anyway (some of us are built for luxury, not freight) 🐾.

  • Dog Amenities: Plush pet bed, food & water bowls, and staff fawning over you like you’re the star of a Broadway show.

  • Dog Fee: $50 per night for the privilege of my company—makes me feel like I should perform tricks on demand.

  • Dog Activities: Leashed beach strolls (zoomies negotiable), sniffari along manicured grounds, and judging humans from the patio.

  • Dog Weight Restrictions: Only dogs up to 40 lbs allowed, and just one per room—so no bringing your St. Bernard expecting the Ritz treatment.

  • Places to Use the Bathroom: Designated pet relief areas around the property—and yes, they actually want the mess picked up, humans are weird that way.

  • Nearby Dog‑Friendly Activities:

    • Chaplin Community Park: off‑leash freedom in a grassy field.

    • Fishcamp on Broad Creek: patio dining with a side of creek breeze.

    • Dolphin‑spotting boat tours: I bark at fish. Humans enjoy it too.

Mom & Pop’s 2-Cents

My humans were thrilled with The Westin Hilton Head because, per their words, “the beds feel like clouds” and “beachfront views melt stress”—all while casually ignoring that I hog most of the bed and they can’t nap in peace.

  • The Rooms: Heavenly beds, balconies with ocean breezes, mini-fridge & coffee maker—basically, a human’s dream sleep‑cation, but mostly just good for my elite bed‑stealing skills.

  • The Resort: Three pools (including one indoor), spa, tropical gardens with koi ponds, tennis courts, and bike/jog paths—so much adult fun, yet all I do is chase seagulls.

  • The Location: Right on the beach, minutes from the airport, and smack‑dab in Port Royal Plantation—perfect for beachfront strolls if humans can tear themselves away from cocktails.

  • Resort Dining: Three restaurants, a poolside bar, and ocean‑view lounges—humans swoon over seafood and spa cuisine, while I howl under the table.

  • Gym: A 2,000 sq ft fitness center with weights, treadmills, yoga, steam room, and sauna—because apparently vacation is when you work out.

  • Activities & Amenities: Spa services, bicycle rentals, beach yoga, tennis, golf nearby, shuttle service, business center, Wi‑Fi, and scenic gardens—really just a human amusement park without bark breaks.

  • Cost and Extra Fees:

    • Room Rates:

      • Off‑peak (e.g., winter/shoulder season): from ~$114–$158/night.

      • Peak oceanfront: ~$292–$412/night depending on room type, with suites reaching $500+.

    • Resort & Destination Fees: ~$38 + $3.75 per night (covers beach access, Wi‑Fi, gym, shuttle, etc.).

    • Pet Fees:

      • Officially $150 flat per stay (regardless of nights), dogs up to 40 lbs allowed—1 per room.

Final Thoughts

Overall, The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa is a pawsitively plush getaway—great views, soft beds, and enough pampering to keep my humans distracted while I steal bacon off room service trays.
