Hudson’s Seafood House on the Docks is where humans sip cold cocktails and devour just-caught seafood while I soak up ocean breezes and pretend not to beg. With waterfront views, dog-friendly docks, and the occasional dropped shrimp, it’s basically my version of fine dining.

From my extremely refined pup palette, Hudson’s Seafood House on the Docks is basically canine-approved because humans get bottomless bloody marys and fresh-caught fish while I enjoy the breezy dockside vibes—and an immediate water bowl escort the moment we sit down! With waterfront views so stunning they distract them from my begging, it’s low‑country seafood heaven where we both get spoiled.

  • Cuisine: Fresh Atlantic seafood galore—think oysters, shrimp, soft‑shell crab, grouper, lobster tails, and hearty staples like filet mignon and crab cakes 

  • Drinks: Ice‑cold craft beers and full bar options—perfect for humans who love a sunset cocktail, while I silently judge their buzzy choices.

  • Location: Right on the docks over Port Royal Sound, with every table offering prime waterfront views and live unloading of the day’s catch 

  • Dog Appeal: Tons of outdoor seating, water bowls galore, and a laid‑back, bark‑welcoming vibe that makes me feel like the co‑star of the show.

If you’re craving fresh seafood with a side of salty air—and don’t mind me stealing a shrimp when you’re not looking—Hudson’s is the bark-worthy dining detour you didn’t know you needed.

Mom & Pop’s 2-Cents

My humans couldn’t stop raving about Hudson’s—something about “authentic Lowcountry seafood,” “chill waterfront vibes,” and “Instagrammable sunsets,” while I was just impressed they served oysters without making weird faces.

The food was incredible. Here is a summary:

  • 🍤 Food: The folks ordered a dozen oysters and the stuffed shrimp. They were both delicious. Paired well with the bottle of white wine they ordered.
    Pro Tip: The place is popular. Get there 30-45 min before sunset and put your name in and grab a cocktail. You don’t want to miss the sunset. It’s glorious, plus you may even see some dolphins. 
  • 🍽️ Top Recommended Dishes:

    • Local oysters on the half shell (I call them “sea snacks”)

    • Crab cakes packed with actual crab, not mystery filler

    • Blackened mahi mahi tacos that made my humans audibly “mmm”

    • Shrimp and grits—because apparently grits are acceptable when shrimp are involved

    • Soft shell crab sandwich for the “I want to wear the ocean” crowd

    • The Dockside Punch—fruity, fun, and just strong enough to make them forget I begged all dinner
